My Reflection On Chatting With an AI Chatbot

Out of all the assignments we have made over the semester, this might be my favourite one. Talking with one of my favourite characters was engaging and entertaining. I thought AI chatbotting would be rather difficult since how can an AI capture the same feeling as literally talking to that character but i stand corrected. I would like to use similar tools in my future teaching practices. Of course, I would try to be more careful with it since AI is helpful, yes, but we need to use it correctly and appropriately so we can get the best of it. One of the many benefits of AI tools in education is personalized learning. With AI, every student can get the education that is specifically tailored to them. Not only that, but adaptive learning platforms such as Duolingo can adjust language learning difficulty in real time, resulting in higher learning efficiency for the student. Another benefit, and this is the most important one for me, is 24/7 access to learning. AI tools like ChatGPT, ChatBots, and virtual tutors are always available to anyone at any time, making learning possible at every chance. But there are some drawbacks to AI, unfortunately. First of all, AI can't replace the emotional intelligence of humans, and as a result of that, students may feel disconnected from their school work and unsupported. Also, AI systems can inherit some bias and uncertainty from their developers since not every developer is a decent person and lastly, AI is not 100% trustworthy when grading papers. This can result in unfair grading of students and can harm the academic life of a student. Overall, AI has a huge potential that waits to be discovered, and in the right hands, i believe it will turn its drawbacks into positives and work efficiently.
